Measuring Cell/Battery voltages

  • The voltage of 2 volts cells must be recorded to 3 digits. Ex: 2.122 instead of 2.12.
  • The Cell condition Report in the Analysis section of the Review page compares cell voltages. Therefore if a cell measuring 2.121 is entered as 2.12 and a cell measuring 2.129 is entered as 2.12 the difference is 0 and no number will be plotted on the Cell Condition Report chart.
  • While the actual difference in the example above is 0.008 the number will be plotted on the chart providing a very accurate representation of the relationship between the 2 cells.
  • Similarly the voltage of 6, 8 and 12 volt batteries should be entered to the maximum number of digits that the voltmeter displays.
